Good Morning everyone! It’s Friday and it’s time for the recipe of the week! This week I’m going to tell you how to make fish tacos! Now since I live in South Florida, fresh seafood is readily available. You can still use frozen though.
So let’s get started!
Here’s what you’ll need:
Flour or Corn Tortillas ( I prefer corn tortillas.)
Fish of your choice (MahiMahi works really well!)
Panko Bread Crumbs
Shredded Cabbage and Shredded Carrots
Cayenne Pepper (optional)
This is how to make it:
Mix your flour and cayenne pepper (I would add about a teaspoon to a cup of flour).
Next dip you fish filets or you can cut them into chunks into the flour and cayenne pepper mixture. After the fish is coated in the flour mixture dip it into the whisked egg. Then dip it back into the flour. You’re going to dip the fish into the egg one more time then into the Panko Bread Crumbs. This will add a little bit of a crunch to it.
After you have coated all your fish you can either bake it (the healthier option) in a preheated oven set to 350 degrees. Bake it for 10 minutes. You can then broil it for a few minutes to make it a little crunchier!
Or you can fry the fish. Which takes a little bit less time. You only want to fry it for a couple minutes or the fish will dry out!
Once you’re fish is ready you can put the piece or piece of fish onto you tortilla with pico de gallo (aka salsa), cabbage and shredded carrots. Then drizzle some sour cream with a little cayenne pepper mixed in!
